Overview

The Early Childhood Nutrition Officer provides technical, operational, and programme support for Early Childhood Nutrition programmes. The role contributes to the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of interventions to improve nutrition outcomes during the first 1,000 days and early childhood.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical, operational and programme support throughout the programming process for Early Childhood Nutrition programmes/projects.
  • Contributes to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions that improve nutrition outcomes during the first 1,000 days and early childhood.
  • Supports the integration of nutrition within Early Childhood Development (ECD), nurturing care, and multisectoral programmes.
  • Implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks.
  • Supports programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care.

Qualifications

A Bachelor degree in one of the following fields is required: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field.

Proficiency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
