Overview
The incumbent will be a vital member of the Data and Digital team, contributing to the evolution and maintenance of DCO's software platforms throughout the software development lifecycle. They will also support business focal points with issue resolution and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new features and modules.
- Analyze and develop solutions to reported issues.
- Utilize frontend and backend technologies to contribute across the technology stack and maintain quality through automated tests.
- Design and develop APIs and facilitate integration with other systems.
- Design and build data storage architectures.
- Analyze existing applications for improvement opportunities.
- Develop and integrate interactive data visualizations and dashboards.
- Collaborate with developers, participate in code reviews, sprint cycles, and knowledge-sharing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Provide technical support to application administrators and data managers.
- Leverage cloud platforms and tools for application scalability, reliability, and security.
- Stay informed about software development trends and responsible AI practices.
- Assist with Dev-ops tasks such as infrastructure maintenance and configuration.
Required Experience
- An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) with five (5) years of relevant experience; OR, A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) with seven (7) years of relevant experience; OR, A Secondary school diploma (or high school equivalent) with eleven (11) years of relevant experience.
Required relevant experience includes:
- Database driven web application development and maintenance.
- Developing with object-oriented JavaScript and JavaScript-based libraries, in particular Typescript, Node.JS and ReactJS.
- Software testing including frameworks and techniques such as dependency injection, Jest, Mocha or Cypress.
- Development of AI-Driven apps and/or complex Agentic workflows.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent), preferably in information technology, information systems, information management, web development, database, engineering or related field; OR, A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)), preferably in information technology, information systems, information management, web development, database, engineering or related field; OR, A Secondary school diploma (or high school equivalent).
