Overview
To contribute to the daily management of WFP’s security operations to facilitate the effective delivery of programmes and maintain the security and safety of WFP personnel, activities, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to security and safety contingency and business continuity plans.
- Liaise with UNDSS and participate in security operations and management meetings.
- Support offices in achieving and maintaining compliance with Security Risk Management Measures.
- Oversee facility access control measures and procedures.
- Contribute to the management of security budgets and procurement planning.
- Responsible for management of security equipment.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources Unit on security staffing matters.
- Monitor and analyze local security developments and emerging risks.
- Prepare and submit accurate, comprehensive, and timely security reports.
- Conduct security orientation briefings for newly arrived personnel.
- Support the planning and delivery of security training and awareness activities.
- Provide operational security support during emergencies and crisis situations.
- Perform other security-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of overall experience, including 3 years of Professional Experience (managerial or supervisory) in areas related to security management (relevant military, policy or corporate) and/or security risk management, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Within these 3 years of professional experience, a minimum of 1 year of experience must be after postgraduation.
Qualifications
Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in Security Management, International Relations or Law Enforcement or other field relevant to security, political science, humanitarian and international development.
