Overview

The Operations Technician role focuses on improving the effectiveness of WHO Sudan fleet services by ensuring transport availability, supporting safe and cost-efficient vehicle use, and maintaining accurate fleet data.


Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, review and coordinate transport requests.
  • Support the management of the vehicle pool.
  • Maintain daily vehicle movement records.
  • Monitor rented vehicles and drivers.
  • Support inspection of vehicles.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and service.
  • Collect, verify and enter fleet data in Tracpoint/FMS.
  • Support production of monthly fleet reports and KPI summaries.
  • Check rental vehicle invoices, maintenance invoices and fuel invoices.
  • Support fuel management.
  • Update and maintain driver records.
  • Assist in organizing drivers' meetings and briefings.
  • Support VTS/Tracpoint administration.
  • Support documentation of road traffic crashes and incidents.
  • Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy fleet files.
  • Liaise with service providers on routine operational matters.
  • Support convoy preparation and field mission arrangements.
  • Ensure clean, safe and functional driver work areas.
  • Perform all other related duties as required.
Required Experience

At least three years of relevant experience in fleet, transport, logistics, administration, data management or operations support. Relevant experience in WHO, another UN agency, an international organization or a humanitarian emergency operation is desirable. Experience with fleet management systems, Tracpoint/FMS, TBS, VTS, vehicle rental management, fuel control, maintenance follow-up or KPI reporting is an asset.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education or equivalent. Training or certification in logistics, fleet management, transport management, administration, vehicle maintenance, data management or related field is desirable.

Remuneration
annual net base salary starting at USD 15,945 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
