Overview

Assists in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating an advocacy and communication strategy to get children’s and women’s issues into the public domain, strengthen political will in support of UNICEF's mission and objectives, and enhance the organization’s credibility and brand.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely production of communication products and materials to support country communication strategy, regional and global campaigns and priorities, and resource mobilization.
  • Provide timely professional assistance and support in developing, drafting and maintaining contact information, materials and relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Undertake regular monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of country communication efforts.
  • Ensure results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.
  • Maintain and develop contact lists of individuals, groups, organizations and fora whose support is essential to achieving advocacy and communication objectives.
  • Assist in organizing special events in consultations with government counterparts, community and partners to support programme delivery.
  • Supervise and follow-up on production and qualitative monitoring of information and communication materials.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media is required. Field work experience and familiarity with emergency situations are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and any other related fields.

Both Turkish and English - Proficient/Fluent
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is considered an asset. Experience working with the private sector is considered an asset. International work experience is considered an asset. Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, is considered an asset.
