Overview
Support the development and implementation of gender-responsive school feeding programmes in Cameroon by strengthening the evidence base on the links between school feeding, gender equality, and educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a desk review and analysis of existing evidence on the linkages between school feeding, gender equality, girls’ education, women’s economic empowerment, and social protection.
- Identify key barriers affecting girls’ enrolment, attendance, retention, and learning outcomes, and assess how school feeding interventions can contribute to addressing these barriers.
- Review existing school feeding programme monitoring frameworks, tools, indicators, and reporting systems, and propose recommendations to strengthen gender-responsive monitoring, accountability, and learning.
- Analyze available programme data, including sex-disaggregated data, to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving educational and gender outcomes.
- Develop evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the integration of gender considerations into the National School Feeding Strategy and related implementation tools, guidelines, and operational frameworks.
- Support the design and implementation of research, assessments, and data collection activities related to school feeding, gender, and education.
- Develop training materials, facilitator guides, and practical tools to support the integration of gender equality and girls’ education considerations into school feeding programming.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions and capacity-strengthening workshops for WFP staff, Government counterparts, and other stakeholders on gender-responsive school feeding approaches.
- Prepare knowledge products, briefing notes, policy papers, presentations, and advocacy materials highlighting the contribution of school feeding to girls’ education, gender equality, and women’s economic empowerment.
- Support the development of concept notes, funding proposals, donor briefs, and other resource mobilization materials aimed at expanding investments in gender-responsive school feeding and girls’ education programmes.
- Contribute to the design of innovative programmes and interventions that leverage school feeding to promote girls’ enrolment, attendance, retention, learning outcomes, and women’s economic empowerment.
- Perform any other task related to the successful implementation and learning objectives of the school feeding programme as required.
- Document good practices, lessons learned, and implementation challenges to inform programme improvement and policy dialogue.
