Overview

This internship aims to provide students with hands-on experience in an international organization, contributing to the OPCW's mission to eliminate chemical weapons. Interns will work with experts on analytical tasks and organizational policy.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Africa Programme database.
  • Support the organization of meetings with States Parties.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and compilation of data for statements.
  • Draft internal and external correspondence.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Africa Network.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a resource person pool for AI-related programmes.
  • Provide editorial support in the development of chemical safety and security tools.
  • Assist with needs assessment of chemical safety and security management.
  • Support efforts to expand the programme portfolio to include new topics on emerging technologies.
  • Assist with the organization of capacity building activities.
Required Experience

Experience in administrative work/volunteering is desirable.

Qualifications

Enrolled in and completed at least one year of a university degree program (or equivalent tertiary institution), or in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher), or graduated from a university or graduate school within one year prior to the internship commencement. University Degree in international relations, development studies, public administration, project management, artificial intelligence, or any other relevant fields is desirable.

Fluency in English is essential.
Languages Preferred
A good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable. Excellent writing and editing skills are desirable.
