Overview

Support the follow-up phase of the UNEP FI Academic Engagement Taskforce, focusing on expanding academic engagement in sustainable finance and shaping future initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support follow-up on Taskforce outcomes and next steps.
  • Expand academic engagement with banking and insurance teams.
  • Develop regional engagement formats.
  • Publish priority research questions and research briefs.
  • Design a researcher engagement window.
  • Support a webinar series and member outreach programme.
  • Scope seed grants and collaborative research awards.
  • Maintain the stakeholder map and provide secretariat support.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. Master’s degree student in Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, other related themes, or recently graduated (within one year of graduation date).

Languages Required
Excellent writing, critical thinking, and communication skills in English are required. Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable. Exposure to sustainable finance and/or financial institutions is a strong asset. Familiarity and experience with academic databases, citation tools, or data visualization tools would be an advantage.

Remote or in Geneva, Switzerland
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
