Overview
The Communications Intern will support the Country Office's communications function to ensure visibility and strategic positioning in line with UNDP corporate branding and priorities. The role involves assisting with daily communications workflow in digital and physical event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop social media posts, infographics, and other materials.
- Support the development of communications materials to convey key UNDP messaging.
- Amplify and enhance visibility of key messaging during partner engagements and public events.
- Assist with the organization and technical setup of physical events, including liaison with event companies.
- Promote key events to relevant stakeholders.
- Carry out the Communications Workplan to enhance communications of key priorities.
- Monitor the Communications Workplan to ensure key targets are achieved.
- Liaise with programme, Gender/Learning teams, and Digital Champions.
- Update media, think-tank, and government contact databases.
- Support the development of knowledge products (e.g., blog, stories, social media posts).
- Support knowledge documentation of projects and programmes.
- Assist with logistics arrangements for key CO events.
Required Experience
Ideally, the applicant’s education should be in a relevant field to the internship position.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher) in International development, social sciences, social policy, law, gender or related field.
- b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in International development, social sciences, social policy, law, gender or related field.
- c) Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
- d) Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
