Overview

The Civil Engineer (Budget Specialist) will support the review of design and construction activities, ensuring projects are on budget and meet quality standards. The role involves incorporating best practices in technical design and construction management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Technical support in the analysis of engineering project budgets, suggesting adjustments to documents when necessary;
  • Technical support in monitoring project recipients, providing technical assistance in budgeting and planning of engineering projects;
  • Technical support in reviewing all documents related to projects and project licensing;
  • Technical support in proposing solutions for the execution of works for food storage units;
  • Support in the execution of projects to ensure that standards, regulations and plans are respected, including safety and health plans, environmental plans and social actions and quality plans;
  • Participate in project planning, monitoring and evaluation meetings, when requested.
Required Experience

Relevant experience includes work in budget engineering, planning engineering, or related areas. Work experience in multicultural environments or in United Nations system organizations in developing countries is desirable. Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related fields, with 2 years of relevant experience, OR A master's degree (or equivalent) in project budgeting or related fields can replace years of experience. Recognized professional certification or membership in a civil engineering association, at national or international level, is desirable.
