Overview

The role involves originating, structuring, executing, and supervising investment projects within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services sector in the Latin America and Caribbean region. The position will contribute to business development and portfolio management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support or Lead business development efforts across MAS in the country.
  • Lead the scoping and identification process of priority companies to target as IFC clients.
  • Actively develop a local network with target companies, financial institutions, financial advisors, and credit agencies.
  • Lead transaction execution and portfolio management activities.
  • Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new investment transactions, portfolio restructurings, reschedulings, capital increases, equity sales, and other portfolio management activities.
  • Develop innovative and appropriate financial structures for complex transactions.
  • Lead or participate in negotiations.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of high-quality investment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, sponsors, financial institutions, private sector partners, and multilateral organizations.
  • Mentor and coach junior investment staff.
  • Support dissemination of best practices within the team.
  • Collaborate with Advisory, Environmental & Social, Legal, Treasury, and other internal partners.
  • Collaborate with the Upstream team to support market creation efforts.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSD), Country Partnership Framework (CPF), Senior Management Briefs, Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDR), etc.
  • Engage with World Bank colleagues on MAS-related issues.
  • Build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience

A minimum of 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in investment, corporate finance, private equity, commercial banking, development finance, or other relevant financial institutions, with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and closing investments, preferably across multiple MAS sectors. Extensive experience in investment execution, portfolio supervision, restructurings, and client relationship management. Strong business development and client relationship management skills.

Qualifications

Master's degree.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Fluency in Spanish is required.
Languages Preferred
Portuguese language skills would be an asset.
