Overview
Provides interpretation and translation services for protection-related activities, including interviews and documents, and conducts counselling for asylum seekers and refugees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides interpretation during RSD, resettlement, and complementary pathway interviews.
- Translates documents to support RSD, resettlement, and complementary pathways cases.
- Travels with RSD-RST and CPW staff on missions for interpretation and assistance.
- Ensures accuracy of terms and terminology during interviews and in translated documents.
- Ensures translations are written with style, correct grammar and spelling.
- Provides RSD, resettlement and complementary pathway counselling and responds to queries.
- Conducts phone screening and identification interviews for RSD-RST and CPW case processing.
- Prepares written documentation for phone screening and identification forms.
- Ensures the database (proGres) and all electronic records are updated systematically and timely.
- Assists with post-submission activities such as ongoing counselling and database updates.
Required Experience
A minimum 1-year relevant work experience, particular with UNHCR, partner or similar organization in protection-related activities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or higher with relevant experience in humanitarian or related fields.
