Overview

Supports the ICRC’s governance and management with weekly information on operational and diplomatic developments and global legal and policy initiatives as part of a small team of internal reporters.


Key Responsibilities
  • Write, compile, edit and proofread articles for the BI, using internal reporting tools and information from internal sources.
  • Stay on top of and search for all relevant information concerning a selection of the five operational regions (Africa, Americas, Asia, Eurasia, Name).
  • Replace and/or assist the Internal Reporting Officer 2 and/or Deputy Secretary of the Assembly in training and other tasks, when needed.
  • Accomplish any other tasks necessary for the BI’s publication and evolution.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of a focal point, acting as an intermediary between the head of the unit based in Geneva and the rest of the team as well as Manila Global Hub colleagues.
Required Experience

1-6 years’ professional experience in writing and research is desirable, as is prior experience in reporting.

Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, political science, social sciences, international relations/studies, communication, languages/linguistics, or the humanities or equivalent.

Fluent command of English; working knowledge of French an asset. Excellent English and communication skills; mastery of grammar and proficiency in writing; Written and spoken French proficiency strongly preferred
