Overview

Support the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and automation tools using technologies including Rust, Node.js, and Python.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, production-grade applications using Rust, Node.js, and Python.
  • Architect and build cloud-ready, containerized applications using Docker.
  • Collaborate and drive the integration of automation and AI-driven tools.
  • Apply secure coding practices and optimize applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across applications and automation systems.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for performance optimization and system enhancements.
  • Translate user feedback and operational requirements into iterative improvements.
  • Enforce UNDP/ITM standard and industry best practices in coding standards, documentation, and version control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design end-to-end digital solutions.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support knowledge sharing and capacity-building activities.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies related to software development and automation.
  • Evaluate new tools and propose innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices and guidelines.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Identify and promote different systems and applications for optimal content management, knowledge management and sharing, and information provision.
  • Prepare technical reports, user guides, and system documentation.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, solution architecture artifacts, and knowledge repositories.
  • Maintain accurate records of development activities and project progress.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies and IT governance requirements.
Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant work experience, preferably in the area of software development, automation, or related areas, ideally within an international or UN environment.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required, Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
