Logistics Cluster Officer – Field Operations CST II

Overview

Lead and coordinate multimodal transport and common storage in Bor, representing the Logistics Cluster in state-level forums. Strengthen partnerships, build national staff capacity, and ensure efficient humanitarian assistance delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate river transport operations.
• Lead road convoy coordination.
• Manage air transport operations.
• Oversee common storage facilities.
• Represent the Logistics Cluster at state-level coordination forums.
• Provide technical guidance to partners and national staff.
• Supervise junior staff and build their capacity.
• Coordinate port and river operations.
• Lead and conduct rapid logistics capacity assessments.
• Ensure integrated Logistics planning.
• Lead and represent Logistics Cluster in emergency response plans.
• Strengthen partnerships with UN agencies, NGOs and local authorities.
• Produce accurate and timely reports on logistics cluster activities.

Required Experience

For a master’s degree holder, a minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in leading/managing Logistics Cluster operations and/or humanitarian logistics coordination in emergency and conflict contexts is required. For a bachelor’s degree holder, a minimum of 7 years of this experience is required. This experience should also include; Working in insecure environments, Interagency coordination, Managing multimodal operations, Supervising staff, Identifying transport risks, Determining transport modality.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
