Overview

The Communications and Multimedia Intern will support communication, multimedia, and digital engagement activities of the Country Office, contributing to content development, storytelling, and visibility initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Gain hands-on experience in drafting and editing communication materials (website articles, social media content, newsletters, speeches, press materials, briefing notes, captions, talking points, visibility materials).
  • Document projects, events, field missions, and programme activities through written stories, interviews, testimonials, and multimedia content.
  • Observe and contribute to the preparation of communication and advocacy materials.
  • Participate in research and information gathering for communication campaigns.
  • Practice proofreading and translation of communication materials.
  • Develop skills in creating digital communication materials (graphics, presentations, infographics, reels, short videos).
  • Gain exposure to photography, video recording, and basic video editing.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining multimedia archives.
  • Support management of digital platforms (website and social media channels).
  • Support the development of inclusive and gender-sensitive communication and multimedia content.
  • Contribute creative ideas and youth-oriented approaches to digital engagement and storytelling.
  • Participate in event coverage (photography, videography, post-event documentation).
  • Support the organization and visibility of events, campaigns, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with programme teams and external partners to support communication activities.
  • Undertake supervised communication related tasks.
Required Experience

No professional experience required. Demonstrated interest in communications, digital media, storytelling, social media management, multimedia production, or design. Basic knowledge of graphic design, photography, video editing, and digital communication tools is desirable. Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar platforms is an asset. Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated sensitivity and commitment to diversity, gender equality, and inclusive communication principles. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment while developing the ability to manage multiple tasks carefully and with attention to detail.

Qualifications

Enrolled student of a degree programme or completed 4 years of full-time studies at a university in the field of Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
