Overview
The role supports a coordinated response to crises by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure urgent communication needs of humanitarian responders are met and facilitates recovery. It contributes to planning and development objectives that affect the response's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Emergency Response Technology Projects in field operations.
- Manage field projects, focusing on Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC), Security Telecommunication Services (TESS) and Service Agreements.
- Represent the Technology Division towards Country Management.
- Lead the identification/assessment and prioritization of key Technology needs.
- Write Concept of Operations (CONOPS), staffing plans and budgets.
- Negotiates budgets with emergency operations management.
- Provide leadership to IT EPR, including ETC.
- Represent WFP and ETC at relevant events and advocate for funding with donors.
- Ensure adequate emergency technology preparedness.
- Coordinate preparation and dissemination of information for funding proposals.
- Identify and mobilize resources (human, financial and assets).
- Lead or support the creation of local capacity.
- Liaise and coordinate with governments on telecommunication related issues.
- Support Digital Assistance interventions.
- Supervise national personnel, TDY, Stand-by Partners, FITTEST and Partners.
Required Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant field or extensive relevant practical field work experience with relevant post-secondary education.
Qualifications
University degree in Technology, Business Management in relevant field or relevant post-secondary education.
