Overview

Assists in the review, analysis, and preparation of cost estimates and budget proposals, and monitors budget implementation and expenditures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in the review, analysis and preparation of cost estimates and budget proposals.
  • Assists with the review of justification for resource requirements for budget submissions.
  • Assists in monitoring extra-budgetary resources.
  • Monitors budget implementation/expenditures and assists with reallocation and re-deployment of funds.
  • Verifies accuracy of input data.
  • Prepares budget performance submissions and provides support with finalization of budget performance reports.
  • Drafts or prepares correspondence to respond to enquiries in respect to budgetary and financial matters.
  • Assists in the maintenance of fixed asset register.
Required Experience

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in International Organizations or in the private sector in accounting, budgeting and financial management or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 5 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Expertise in working with spreadsheets and in modules of SAP is required. Experience in monitoring financial transactions and identifying and analyzing trends in line with IPSAS is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical or vocational certificate in accounting, finance, budget or related fields is required.
