Overview
The Trauma, Maternal Reproductive Health & Disabilities Officer will conduct programme planning and promote effective communication for sexual and reproductive health, and hospital, trauma, rehabilitation and disability components of health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct programme planning for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and hospital, trauma, rehabilitation and disability components.
- Promote effective communication to build partnerships and networks with stakeholders.
- Participate and advocate in national activities involving strategic planning, programme reviews, resource mobilization and national stakeholder meetings.
- Analyze and evaluate best practices from SRH programs, health facilities, population health studies and surveys.
- Identify hazards and disease sources and provide recommendations for response and preventative measures.
- Prepare progress reports, briefings, proposals, communications and advocacy documents.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate Government-WHO collaborative programmes.
- Participate in the development of intersectoral humanitarian and development programmes.
- Advocate for and engage in capacity building in SRH, hospital care, trauma care, physical rehabilitation services, and disability services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of annual work-plans for the health sector.
- Supervise the use of project funds and ensure timely completion of documentation.
- Undertake regular field visits to monitor programme implementation.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience on sexual and reproductive health, and hospital, trauma, rehabilitation and disability development capacity and policies linked to high quality of such programmes. Experience in capacity building and demonstrated knowledge of health sector activities in the context of emergency response relief, early recovery and development.
Qualifications
First level university degree is required in Medicine or Public Health. Master's Degree in Reproductive health, Trauma and Emergency Medicine, or Public Health is desirable.
