Overview

Provides programme support to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Country Office by contributing to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation. Supports the delivery of UN Women programmes by analyzing results and applying systems and procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute technically to programme strategies and formulation of proposals.
  • Provide technical support to programme implementation and management, including annual workplans and budgets.
  • Coordinate and monitor programme activities, including calls for proposals and partner reporting.
  • Train partners on Results Based Management.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to programme partners.
  • Monitor programme activity progress, results, and indicators.
  • Provide inputs to programme monitoring and reporting.
  • Monitor budget implementation and expenditures.
  • Provide inputs to financial reports.
  • Oversee the work of Programme Associates and Assistants.
  • Contribute to partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Provide inputs to relevant documentation.
  • Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination.
  • Provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts.
  • Coordinate and support the organization of advocacy activities and events.
Required Experience

At least 1 year of relevant work experience in development of programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building in the field of gender equality and women’s empowerment is required. Experience in gender responsive planning and budgeting is highly desirable. Experience in policy analysis, legislative review, parliamentary processes, development of action plans and analytical reports, and policy brief and knowledge products is desirable. Experience in coordinating and liaising with government agencies, civil society organizations and/or donors is desirable. Previous experience working with international organizations including the United Nations System is desirable.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
