Overview

Provide necessary ICT support for the mission in Pohnpei and remote sub-offices, ensuring consistent service availability and addressing user requests.

Tasks Summary
  • Install, configure, implement and administer network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless access/VPN).
  • Assist in the planning and development of IT networks and system infrastructure.
  • Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance of systems and networks.
  • Administer and configure the SharePoint Online site.
  • Liaise with service providers for IT services and supplies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date ICT inventory.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive ICT documentation.
  • Receive and address user support requests.
  • Support the implementation of IOM ICT standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Implement IT training to staff and end users.
  • Provide guidance to end users on IT security threats.
  • Undertake duty travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Four years of relevant experience administrating Windows Server 2016 and LAN/WAN networking environment.
  • Extensive experience in direct user technical support and computer, network and communication equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience supporting Office 365 and cloud-based solutions in AWS or Azure.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, electronic engineering, and two years of relevant experience; OR
  • High school certificate, and four years of relevant experience administrating Cloud based services (AWS or Azure), Windows Server 2016 and LAN/WAN networking environment.
  • AWS or Azure Cloud Certification (Associate) is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Certification (MCP or above) in Windows Server 2016 or Active Directory is preferable.
  • Other industry certifications such as CCNA+, Avaya, CompTIA Network+, VCP or ITIL are an advantage.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of Pohnpeian is an advantage.

Contract Duration: Nine months
