Overview
Expand the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators framework by developing a methodology to integrate indicators for climate adaptation and resilience. Monitor and measure culture’s contribution to climate action.
Tasks Summary
- Review current UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators framework methodology and data tables, focusing on Indicator 3 “Climate change adaptation and resilience” and data collected.
- Review indicators for the UAE-Belém work programme under Target 9g, “Cultural Heritage and Knowledge”.
- Review indicators adopted for the UAE-Belém work programme under Target 9g, following the CMA 7.
- Review other relevant indicators measuring culture’s contribution to climate change and the impact of climate change on culture.
- Identify gaps and limitations in the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators framework concerning the measurement of culture's contribution to climate adaptation and resilience.
- Develop criteria for the selection and validation of new indicators or adjustments to existing ones.
- For new indicators, indicate data sources and measurement methods.
- Prepare a draft report detailing the expanded methodology and a proposal for revising data tables.
- Facilitate a workshop with experts and stakeholders to present the proposal and gather feedback.
- Consolidate feedback to issue the final report, including implementation recommendations.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas related to culture and sustainable development, climate change adaptation, or resilience-building, preferably at the international level.
- Proven experience in developing or applying indicators, methodologies, or measurement frameworks related to sustainable development, culture, or climate.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Cultural Policy, Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, or other related fields relevant to the assignment.
