Tasks Summary
- The project focuses on supporting the inclusion of young people with migrant backgrounds who often face language barriers, social exclusion, and limited access to learning opportunities. Volunteers will work mainly in the youth center and partly in two local primary schools. Main activities:
- Planning and delivering daily activities such as sports, social games, music or dance workshops, English lessons, and thematic or intercultural workshops.
- Providing teaching support in classrooms and assisting pupils with learning challenges.
- Taking part in street youth work together with local volunteers and staff.
- Supporting communication between young people, families, schools, and the youth center when cultural or language barriers arise.
- Developing and implementing volunteers’ own ideas and small creative projects. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements You will be accommodated in the new youth hostel located within the youth center, in a separate ESC apartment equipped with two single rooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. Each volunteer will have their own private room, while the apartment will be shared with one other ESC volunteer. The living room is shared with students who reside in the hostel. You will receive a monthly food allowance and pocket money, totaling approximately 330 euros. All travel costs will be reimbursed by the organization. Training during the activity Pre-departure, on arrival, mid-term training. During your stay here you'll have different workshops, and training, with your mentors, working mentors, and coordinator, who will help you with activities and developing your ideas. Participant profile We are currently seeking two volunteers who are motivated, open-minded, and eager to work in a diverse youth environment. While knowledge of the Albanian language would be an advantage, it is not required for participation. The ideal candidates enjoy working with children and young people and have strong communication skills. They should have an interest in culture or multimedia or music, and or DIY projects, and be willing to explore and develop their own ideas within the youth center. It is important that volunteers are empathetic, responsible, and capable of understanding and practicing the values of solidarity, cooperation, and inclusion.
