Overview
Consultant to design, deliver, and facilitate a two-part pandemic simulation exercise (SIMEX) to enhance UNICEF's readiness and response to influenza pandemics and public health emergencies.
Tasks Summary
- Design and develop injects for two parts of a SIMEX, testing internal OPs and wider response including partnerships
- Develop realistic and context-specific simulation scenarios aligned with UNICEF’s Pandemic Influenza Planning Guide and ORF
- Ensure alignment with global frameworks such as WHO’s PRET and PIP
- Create comprehensive simulation materials including facilitator guides, injects, timelines, and evaluation tools
- Lead organisation and logistics for the SIMEX
- Adapt materials based on lessons learned
- Facilitate the online SIMEX in two parts with HQ, RO, and selected country offices
- Conduct pre-briefings and debrief sessions
- Prepare a detailed report summarizing observations, lessons learned, and recommendations
Experience Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in public health, humanitarian studies, disaster risk management, or a related field
- Experience in designing and facilitating simulation exercises
- Experience in pandemic preparedness and response planning
