Overview
Provide technical assistance to governments on land consolidation instruments, land policy, and land market development. Facilitate cooperation and coordinate planning for land tenure projects.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical assistance on land consolidation instruments, assessing progress and identifying constraints
- Provide technical assistance on land policy formulation, access to land, land market development and regulation, state land management, land abandonment, and land administration systems
- Facilitate cooperation between FAO country staff and government staff on land consolidation projects
- Coordinate planning and execution of backstopping missions for FAO Technical Officers and international consultants
- Lead development of training programmes for government staff on land consolidation and sustainable land management
- Formulate projects and work plans, including organizing and participating in project workshops
- Contribute to enhancing partnership and resource mobilization for FAO land tenure work
- Review and contribute to studies, project reports, progress reports, and terminal reports
- Provide technical advice within the context of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure
Experience Requirements
Broad technical knowledge and experience in Land Tenure, in particular related to land consolidation, land policy, access to land, state land management, land market development, land legislation and land abandonment.
