Overview

Support social media campaigns and develop communication materials for the Department of Peace Operations.


Tasks Summary
  • Support social media campaigns; preparation of presentations; support organization of events; web page updates; preparation of audiovisual content.
  • Develop communication materials based on good practices, impact example and achievements.
  • Support the development of social media content for social media platforms, including drafting language, preparing visual assets, creating audiovisual materials, and adapting content for platforms such as: Instagram, X Facebook and LinkedIn, often under tight deadlines.
  • Support information integrity work through continuous monitoring of information environments relevant to UN field missions, identifying emerging mis- and disinformation trends, and preparing analytical inputs and briefings.
  • Research and create resources guide on specific topics.
  • Support proofreading of documents by partner organizations.
  • Support web-search, collecting and organizing information on the Military Component in the Field and related subjects and activities by partners.
  • Assist in editing and drafting messages, biographies, reports and articles.
  • Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content.
  • Gather social media content at special events (conferences, training, exhibits, etc.).
  • Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Linkedin.
  • Attend meetings as an observer.
  • Contribute to the Office internal communications including preparation of new letters management of chair resources and internal knowledge management.
  • Support messaging materials and narrative development for OMA leadership including talking points, recorded remarks and concise briefing lines for key messages and communications.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Work Modality: Hybrid
