SURF CLUBE DE VIANA VIANA DO CASTELO, Portugal Volunteer opportunity: Sport Change Makers
Promote health and social transformation trough outdoor sport, namely surf and sustainability education. Volunteers will be involved in supporting the SCV's managing Surfingviana High Performance Center in administrative tasks, coachs in surf and bodyboard school carrying out the different daily activities, namely with young, elder and people with special needs, university camps, national and international events and in many other activities that help to develop better health and wellbeing and improvement of athletes. Support the facilities reception, Check lists; distribution of sports equipment support in the control orientation facilities, distribution of sports equipment, beach and water surf practice support, housekeeping and cleaning spaces, and in general supporting, planning and accompaniment of all activities. Improve sustainable plan and provide the participation themselves of promoting healthy lifestyle and physical activity. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Pocket money - 5€/day - and monthly allowance - 4€/day - are payed monthly. Accommodation in individual or shared room and free access to all facilities (shared spaces, kitchen, WCs and balcony) in a house close to the Surfingviana HPC. Travel from residence country and transports from and to the activity expenses are reimbursed to the volunteer in the first month of payment if presented. Transport from and to the Surfingviana HPC, can be provided by car ride with SCV workers or can be done walking or riding a bicycle. Training during the activity Welcome and training on arrival in the organization before start the activity. Training with organization coaches. Daily workers acompaignment; participations in trainings, projects and experiences with other institutions. On arrival and midterm training leading by Portugal National Agency. Mentorship provided. Portuguese course and other trainings needed provided by the organization. Participant profile Willingness and availability to work, learn and help; Responsability, creativity, autonomy, ease of interpersonal relations and teamwork, determination, empathy, dynamism, initiative, ability to manage unforeseeable situations and elementary loyalty to the SCV; Deal different groups, nationalities, ages and special needs; Flexibility to perform different tasks and dynamic schedules; Speak English; Interest of sport and motivation for physical activity in outdoor, sports, sustainability and tourism; Networking ability. Person with fewer oportunities (long last unemployment; geographic or economic or cultural obstacles)
