Overview

Assist in communication and information management for the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and its agreements. Support outreach activities, content generation, and social media management.


Tasks Summary
  • Assist in producing communication and information management products and activities for CMS and AEWA
  • Generate communications content for websites by researching and drafting articles
  • Support development of audio-visual and multimedia products
  • Assist in implementing the World Migratory Bird Day Campaign
  • Support day-to-day management of social media channels
  • Support press/media-related work
  • Support maintenance of databases, filing and archiving activities
  • Perform any other tasks upon request

Experience Requirements
  • Experience with using website content management systems
  • Skills in graphic design, video editing and experience with specialized software
  • Experience in managing social media content and platforms
  • Writing skills and ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
  • Graduated with a university degree and commence internship within one year of graduation
  • Preferred area of study: communications, media studies, international relations or journalism, social sciences, information and knowledge management, or related field
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage. Knowledge of Portuguese is also an advantage.

Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months

Work Modality: in-person internship, but applicants may be requested on an exceptional basis to undertake the internship remotely

Remuneration: The internship is unpaid.
