Overview
The role involves conducting economic and econometric analyses and drafting papers on diverse policy issues for the Economics Department. It focuses on structural and macroeconomic projects of a cross-country nature and country analysis.
Tasks Summary
- Supervise and co-ordinate policy-relevant analysis for Committees
- Contribute to structural surveillance of member countries and non-member economies' policies
- Identify areas for empirical work and provide technical guidance
- Draft background documents, reports, manuals, and memos
- Draft analytic documents and working papers on current economic policy issues
- Draft reports and articles summarising empirical knowledge, recent economic developments or policy issues
- Undertake ad-hoc and innovative analyses
- Participate in the general work of the Department, including scrutinising papers
- Elaborate medium-term scenarios
- Disseminate information on significant developments
- Comment on and make suggestions for model development and quantitative/statistical work
- Undertake peer reviews of work
- Participate in cross-directorate horizontal projects
- Develop comprehensive dissemination strategies
- Engage to present, promote, and raise visibility of findings
- Maintain contacts with senior officials and stakeholders
- Represent the OECD at outside meetings
- Participate in missions to member and non-member countries
- Respond to enquiries from Delegations, journalists and the general public
- Contribute to an effective communication strategy of the Department’s outputs
Experience Requirements
Experience in policy-relevant analysis, structural surveillance, empirical work, drafting analytic documents, working papers, reports, and articles. Experience in outreach and developing dissemination strategies. Experience maintaining contacts with senior officials and stakeholders. Experience representing an organisation at meetings and participating in missions.
