Tasks Summary

Within the ESC voluntary program, we are looking for 2 young people for a long-term, 6-month period (April-October 2024), who can participate in the nature conservation programs and environmental education of our association at the bases of the Green Circle in north-eastern Hungary - in Bodrogolaszi, Sárospatak and Bodrogkeresztúr settlements. Activities expectes of the volunteers are the following: o assisting in the management of exhibitions related to nature conservation (in the role of animator and babysitter) o assisting in nature classes (in the role of animator and babysitter, preparation of photo documentation) o maintenance of educational trails, minor renovation works o supervision and handing over of hiking equipment (kayak, canoe, bicycle) to hikers o participation in events, helping in summer camps o gardening o participation in the daily community life of Bodrogolaszi Accommodation, food and transport arrangements We can provide accommodation for volunteers in a family house in the small village of Bodrogolaszi on the banks of the river Bodrog. With a separate bedroom per person, but with a shared bathroom and kitchen plus internet access. Meals: we pay meal support for you (grocery store on site, cooking facilities, restaurant 5 km away). We prefer green travel to and from Hungary. We provide bicycles for local transport, we recommend the train or the association's car for long-distance travel. Training during the activity The volunteers get to know the natural values, flora and fauna of the area and its cultural values (castles, festivals), and gain work experience. They join the Hungarian nature conservation movement and can build relationships with young people with similar interests. We provide opportunities for language learning. Participant profile Young people who, through their studies or interests, are committed to protecting nature, are not deterred from light physical work, do well with children, and want to gain new experiences and knowledge in nature conservation and pedagogical activities. They like and are able to work in a team. Holders of a category B license and knowledge of the Hungarian language have an advantage.
