Overview
Responsible for the safety and security of personnel, premises, programmes, and activities of the UNSCOL office.
Tasks Summary
- Prepares, reviews, approves or endorses security planning and management documents
- Monitors implementation of approved security measures
- Provides support and advice on security-related matters
- Maintains communication with UNDSS
- Serves as a member of the UN Security Cell
- Supports cooperation with authorities and international institutions
- Ensures implementation of safety and security policies
- Supports establishment of Emergency Communication System
- Conducts fact-finding related to security incidents
- Assists in response to crisis events
- Monitors close protection arrangements
- Participates in security missions
- Supervises and manages security personnel
- Manages security assets
- Identifies and promotes best security practices
- Performs other assigned duties.

Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in security management, business administration, political/social science, psychology, criminal justice, law, international relations or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A first-level university degree may be substituted with a diploma from a police or military education institution, college or academy obtained over a minimum of a three-year period.
