Overview

Responsible for developing coherent concepts, creative layouts, and format solutions for a wide range of Scientific and Technical content, from initial ideas to finalized files within the IAEA’s Publishing Section’s product portfolio.


Tasks Summary
  • Undertake publishing product projects identifying new formats and style for technical and substantive content.
  • Conceptualize and develop style and format concepts for publishing outputs.
  • Work directly with content owners to discuss potential publishing projects and design options.
  • Provide technical support for layout and prepare files for final review and launch.
  • Conceptualize and provide design assistance for data reporting.
  • Coordinate and follow up with relevant parties to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff members.
  • Research and contribute ideas to new publishing initiatives.
  • Provide support for the layout of official documents in all IAEA official languages.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a publishing environment (preferably STM/Academic, Intergovernmental Organization, or Higher Education).
  • Experience in Product Concept Design, Marketing Design, and/or UX.
  • Essential experience in working with relevant specialized publishing and graphic design tools and applications.
  • Experience working on book promotional campaigns.
  • Experience in working with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in working in a busy publishing or creative environment.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Desktop Publishing, Graphic Design, Publishing, Media Studies, or a related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Excellent oral and written command of English.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Contract Duration: 36 months

Remuneration: • Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $55163 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance). • Variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 30064*. • Dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses. • 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
