Overview

Contributes to the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with national priorities and FAO's strategic objectives.

Tasks Summary

• Liaises with government authorities and institutions
• Represents FAO at interagency meetings
• Promotes FAO's image and mandate
• Coordinates data collection on food, crops, livestock, forestry, and fisheries
• Monitors national policies affecting the agricultural sector
• Participates in producing studies and developing country level development frameworks
• Participates in programme and project proposal identification, formulation, and preparation
• Monitors programme/project implementation and proposes corrective measures
• Briefs, trains, and supervises programme staff
• Performs other duties as required

Experience Requirements

Three years of relevant experience in public and/or private sectors related to programming, planning and technical cooperation in food and agriculture and/or project implementation in an area of FAO's activities in the country.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree (Master's degree level or equivalent) in agriculture, agricultural economics, forestry, fisheries, natural resources, rural development, business administration and management, international relations or any other field related to the work of the Organization.

Other Details

Languages Required: Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English and the local language.

Contract Duration: Fixed-term: two years with possibility of extension
