Overview

Supports the Accounting and Reporting Unit in resolving accounting and financial system issues, analyzing and proposing solutions to improve processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.


Tasks Summary
  • Support the preparation of annual IPSAS compliant Financial Statements including Note disclosures
  • Contribute to the year end closure of accounts including IPSAS compliant adjustments
  • Perform routine activities related to the monthly closure of sub-ledgers
  • Maintain master data of chart of accounts, financial statement mapping elements in Oracle General Ledger and posting rules
  • Provide assistance in the Unit's activities related to Oracle system, such as testing subsequent to system upgrades
  • Contribute to the review process of internal controls and actively propose suggestions for improvements
  • Support the preparation of quarterly financial reporting packages
  • Provide assistance in responses to internal and external audit queries

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in accounting, including the preparation of financial statements
  • Experience in supporting the work of external auditors in relation to their audit work is required
  • Hands-on experience of an ERP system is required

Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree - Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Other certification (could be still in process): Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, ACCA, etc.

Languages Preferred: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish

Contract Duration: 36 months

Remuneration: Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $55163 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 30064*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
