Overview
The Senior Investment Officer will lead and/or support the Tokyo office's priorities in sector strategy, deal structuring, and business development for Japanese clients in the energy and metals/minerals sectors.
Tasks Summary
- Contribute to client engagement strategy development
- Support relationship management with key clients and stakeholders
- Act as focal investment specialist for business development with Japanese clients in energy transition (renewables, battery storage, green hydrogen) and metals/minerals
- Identify and generate leads from Japanese clients
- Develop and nurture relationships with key Japanese clients
- Support client engagement and business development in specified sectors
- Contribute to knowledge sharing on Japanese clients' activities
- Lead/support WBG initiatives and IFC participation in events
- Liaise/assist financial institutions in creating transition bond frameworks
Experience Requirements
- 12 to 15 years of experience in business development, project finance, and investment banking
- Experience in client coverage and Business Development with Japanese private sectors
- Experience in dealing with investors, government clients, and multiple stakeholders
- Experience in successfully managing diverse project teams in multiple transactions
- Experience in reviewing legal documents and/or technical studies will be a plus
Qualification Requirements
• MBA or Master’s degree in business, finance, or economics
