Overview
The Senior Investment Officer will spearhead business development and partnership initiatives with Japanese clients, focusing on the Manufacturing, Agriculture and Services sector with an emphasis on food security in Africa. The role aims to shape and execute IFC's investment strategies for development impact in emerging markets.
Tasks Summary
- Contribute to client engagement strategy development in MAS sector, focusing on food security in Africa
- Support Director in developing and managing client and stakeholder relationships
- Coordinate with industry departments to provide strategic advice
- Work with clients to implement engagement strategy and monitor client needs
- Monitor and analyze market developments and provide strategic advice
- Monitor client activity and develop proactive engagement plans
- Stay abreast of industry developments and competitive landscape
- Maintain relationships with Industry Specialists for knowledge gathering
- Support client mapping and screening
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate presentations
- Understand WBG and IFC products, services, and priorities
- Build dialogue with strategic clients and other DFIs
- Identify business opportunities and new trends
- Mentor and manage junior staff
Experience Requirements
- 12 to 15 years of experience in business development, project finance, and investment banking
- Good knowledge, networks with Japanese private sectors, and credibility within business and governmental communities
- Experience in client coverage and Business Development with Japanese private sector companies
- Experience in dealing with investors, government clients, and multiple stakeholders
- Experience in successfully managing diverse project teams in multiple transactions
- Experience in reviewing legal documents and/or technical studies will be a plus
Qualification Requirements
• MBA or Master’s degree in business, finance, or economics
