Tasks Summary

Local Partners ASSOCIAÇÃO DE PAIS DE CEPELOS and ESCOLA BÁSICA DE CEPELOS BELA VISTA are key local partners in this European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project. The school, a public primary school located in an old building in Amarante, will provide the space where volunteering activities take place, while the APC will support part of the painting materials and logistical costs. Their close collaboration strengthens the local community spirit and supports a creative, solidarity-driven initiative focused on children and education. Work: Volunteers will work alongside the APC and the school team to carry out a creative and socially impactful painting project. They will be involved in all stages of the artistic process, from concept development and sketching to the final painting, under the guidance of project coordinators. Participants will share rooms with other team members. The youth center is equipped with internet, workspaces, and a bar/restaurant. Meals (vegetarian with protein options) are provided Monday to Saturday at the center, with one non-vegetarian dinner per week. Volunteers receive €20 for Sunday meals (reimbursed with invoices). Training during the activity Volunteers will have access to the Portuguese Language Basics Course on the EU Academy portal. Once in Amarante, they will also receive basic Portuguese lessons conducted by the long- term volunteers. Participant profile To participate, volunteers should have a passion for artistic expression, including painting and drawing, though professional experience is not required. Openness to working collaboratively in an inclusive and supportive environment is essential. Volunteers must also be willing to engage with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds, including children and elderly individuals. Active participation throughout the program and commitment to its solidarity-driven mission are mandatory. Strong adaptability and a proactive attitude are highly valued. Candidates must be 18 to 30 years old and reside in one of the eligible countries. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
