Overview

Gain professional experience in legal affairs within an international organization. This internship provides practical experience in legal research, document review, and drafting.

Tasks Summary

• Assist in conducting legal research on international law, ocean affairs, and law of the sea.
• Assist in reviewing legal documents, instruments, or other material.
• Assist in drafting and preparing official and legal documents.
• Attend and take notes at conferences and meetings.
• Assist in servicing conferences and meetings.
• Work on websites and/or presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Degree programme must be in the area of Law.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another United Nations official language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) would be an advantage.

Contract Duration: A minimum of two months with a possibility of extension of up to a maximum of six months.

Work Modality: Full-time and in-person. Hybrid or remote setting may be considered based on request.
