Internship opportunity within the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, supporting international trade law dissemination and technical assistance in the region.
Enhance international trade and development in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting certainty in international commercial transactions through the dissemination of international trade norms and standards; Provide bilateral and multilateral technical assistance to States with respect to the adoption and uniform interpretation of UNCITRAL texts through workshops and seminars; Engage in coordination activities with international and regional organizations active in trade law reform projects in the region; Function as a channel of communication between States in the region and UNCITRAL.
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Be computer literate in standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet research.
Languages Required: Excellent command of English.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another United Nations official language, namely Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, as well as of regional languages such as Japanese, Korean, or others, would be an advantage.
Contract Duration: 2-6 months
Work Modality: in person at UNCITRAL RCAP in Incheon, Republic of Korea or conducted remotely
Remuneration: The internship is unpaid
