Overview

Internship opportunity within the Legal Affairs Directorate to support research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents related to the UPU's structure, functions, and activities.

Tasks Summary

• Carry out research and analysis on legal issues related to public international law and administrative law
• Prepare draft documents on legal issues
• Assist in preliminary analysis of legal instruments such as treaties and agreements
• Prepare background papers, reports, and other documents
• Synthesize views and practices on legal issues
• Prepare draft legal instruments such as treaties, agreements, and contracts

Experience Requirements

• Law student or law graduate (graduated a maximum of six months prior to the starting date of the internship)
• Good knowledge of public international law, the law of international organizations and/or arbitration law

Qualification Requirements

Law student attached to a university or institution of a similar nature and whose course of study is in progress or about to be completed, or law graduate

Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent oral and written command of French or English (UN level lll)

Languages Preferred: Good oral and written command of the other language (UN level ll)

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Bern

Remuneration: The traineeship will be remunerated in accordance with current UPU Human Resources rules.
