Overview
The Senior Water Specialist will contribute to the World Bank's water development initiatives through projects, policy lending, and technical assistance in sustaining water resources, delivering services, and building resilience.
Tasks Summary
- Develop and implement strategies, plans, and policies related to water resources and sanitation.
- Oversee and support the implementation and preparation of water-related projects.
- Conduct institutional and analytical work within the water sector.
- Monitor and evaluate water sector programs and interventions.
Experience Requirements
- At least 8 years of work experience in water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, sanitation, environment, civil engineering, or irrigation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in water supply and sanitation service delivery and water resources management.
- Experience in infrastructure development, utility/institutional reform, public/private partnerships, sector coordination, policy dialogue, private sector participation, pro-poor strategy, and program development.
- Sound knowledge of water sector issues in Guinea.
- Knowledge of cross-cutting issues related to the water sector: climate change, environmental and social issues, inclusion, and poverty reduction.
Qualification Requirements
• A Master’s degree in water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, sanitation, environment, civil engineering, irrigation, or a related discipline with a focus on water supply and sanitation and water resources management.
