Centro Nazionale per il Volontariato (CNV), based in Lucca, is one of the most important Italian organisations in the voluntary sector, with over 35 years of experience and more than 100 member organisations. CNV promotes free and inclusive volunteering and supports Third Sector associations at local, national and European level. Volunteers will take part in activities related to youth, migration and active citizenship, including the identification, planning and coordination of projects for young immigrants and youth programmes; support to the Civil Service desk; cooperation with the European Solidarity Corps office; and collaboration with local administrations to strengthen community initiatives. Lucca offers a welcoming environment, rich cultural heritage and an active civil society. Volunteers will engage with local associations, join community events and experience life within a dynamic network committed to social inclusion and solidarity. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements CNV provides accommodation in a fully equipped flat located on the first floor of its office in Lucca. The flat includes two shared bedrooms, a kitchen and common areas, and all accommodation costs are fully covered by the hosting organisation. Volunteers receive a monthly pocket money of 180 € and a food allowance of 150 €, for a total of 330 € per month. They usually cook for themselves in the shared kitchen and can easily reach the office, supermarkets and public transport. The neighbourhood is safe and well connected, making daily life comfortable and accessible. Training during the activity During the volunteering period, participants will receive on‑the‑job training and continuous support from CNV staff. Training will focus on volunteering values, active citizenship, social inclusion, migration issues and project management. Volunteers will also develop transversal skills such as teamwork, communication, intercultural awareness and initiative‑taking through daily activities and collaboration with local and international partners. They will work closely with the CNV office team, be encouraged to propose activities based on their interests, and co‑develop them with staff. Participant profile We are looking for volunteers aged 18–30 who are creative, open-minded, proactive and motivated, with a genuine interest in social issues, youth work and intercultural dialogue. Sensitivity to cultural and social diversity is essential, as volunteers will work closely with young people, migrants, local associations and CNV staff. Candidates should be willing to take initiative, contribute their own ideas and work both independently and as part of a team. We welcome volunteers who are curious, eager to learn and ready to engage in community‑based activities. To apply, applicants are required to submit a CV and a motivation letter. We strongly encourage originality and invite candidates to share anything that reflects their personality, interests, experiences and potential skills.
