Overview

Provide engineering expertise for construction projects, including technical review, site supervision, progress verification, and reporting.

Tasks Summary

• Review technical documents and contractor schedules
• Provide comments on methodology, plans, risks, and mitigation measures
• Participate in kick-off meetings
• Visit field locations to verify work against specifications
• Certify construction milestones
• Inspect materials for compliance
• Verify adherence to safety standards
• Identify deviations and propose corrective actions
• Review progress reports, invoices, and payment requests
• Advise on payment conditions
• Prepare site visit reports
• Maintain log of non-compliance issues
• Produce incident or deviation reports
• Submit final end-of-assignment report
• Draft technical documents for procurement
• Assist procurement team in bid preparation and evaluation
• Monitor and support on-site implementation
• Provide technical support to procurement process
• Prepare documentation for construction of office
• Issue technical verification notes for payment milestones
• Issue formal reports for deviations or breaches

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in architecture, construction and engineering
• Experience as an engineer in site inspection, technical drawings, and materials management is required
• Previous relevant experience in Haiti is desirable
• Use of relevant engineering software (i.e. CAD) is desirable

Qualification Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in architecture, construction or engineering or other related fields is required
• A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written French is required

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage
