Overview
Support and sustain the Digital Accessibility Helpdesk into a fully institutionalized function. Strengthen digital accessibility efforts and advance commitments under the 2030 Disability Inclusion Policy and Strategy.
Tasks Summary
- Support the development, documentation, and implementation of standardized procedures and workflows for digital accessibility.
- Contribute to the mainstreaming of accessibility considerations across digital project lifecycles.
- Provide expert guidance in promoting the integration of digital accessibility into key institutional processes.
- Develop and implement an Accessibility Classification system.
- Provide technical support for the auditing of digital platforms.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Accessibility Helpdesk in resolving tickets/cases.
- Recommend and support the implementation of remediation actions.
- Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with other UN agencies and external stakeholders.
- Develop content for internal knowledge sites and training on digital accessibility.
- Generate audit reports for accessibility issues.
- Support the strategic expansion and implementation plan for scaling the Accessibility Helpdesk.
Experience Requirements
Experience in digital accessibility, including auditing digital platforms, websites, mobile apps, and digital content. Experience in resolving tickets/cases for an Accessibility Helpdesk. Experience in developing and implementing accessibility guidelines, standards, and best practices. Experience in building internal capacity and delivering training on digital accessibility. Experience in fostering strategic partnerships.
