ESPJ CECAP JOVEN Toledo / Toledo, Spain Volunteer opportunity: Support for the inclusion and civic participation of young people with recognised intellectual disabilities
At CECAP JOVEN, an organisation providing services to young people in Toledo, we work to promote the social inclusion of young people with recognised intellectual disabilities by organising various leisure and free-time activities (going to the cinema, bowling, eating out at restaurants, group trips, etc.). These contexts allow us to work with users to improve their social and communication skills when interacting with others, as well as adaptive and functional skills that help them to become more independent in their daily lives. The volunteers' work will involve supporting the professionals involved in each of the proposed activities. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will be accommodated in a flat located a few metres from the organisation's headquarters, where they will have: a single room and a shared bathroom, kitchen and living room. This accommodation has heating and air conditioning, TV and Wi-Fi. Training during the activity During the project, volunteers will attend weekly coordination meetings and initial and ongoing training sessions to ensure good practice throughout the project. Participant profile No prior training is required, but a positive attitude towards caring for people in vulnerable situations is essential. Ethical commitment and responsibility. Priority will be given to those who have a minimum level of Spanish.
