Overview
The Budgetist (Engineer) reports to the Head of Brazil Office and will support the implementation of the project and its activities. The consultant will work in close collaboration with UN-Habitat’s operational and technical teams.
Tasks Summary
- Set parameters, standards, and requirements for budget engineering
- Set guidelines for planning and development of architecture and urban infrastructure basic projects
- Prepare technical guidelines, budget spreadsheets with costs and quantities, and detailed data survey needs for bidding civil construction works
- Analyze and review materials quantities spreadsheet regarding architecture and engineering basic projects for residential buildings and urban infrastructures
- Analyze and review budget spreadsheet and its unity cost composition, calculate indirect benefits and expenses (BDI), elaborate “ABC” and “S” curves, elaborate civil construction work program and control, elaborate physical-financial graphics and progress
- Prepare reports and technical analysis on residential building and urban infrastructure budgets
- Apply advanced analysis techniques to propose solutions to problems related to budget engineering
- Provide technical guidance to designers, planners, engineers, and architects
- Collaborate with other team members to prepare the necessary technical documents corresponding to the project
- Participate in meetings with other members of the technical team
- Perform any other technical support tasks to support the project team as required
- Complete all courses and training activities indicated by supervisor
- Complete BSAFE security course from UNDSS within the first month of employment
Experience Requirements
Experience in budget engineering, architecture and urban infrastructure basic projects, civil construction works, residential buildings and urban infrastructure budgets.
