Free and Real Istiaias Edipsou, Greece Volunteer opportunity: For The World Is Hollow And We Have Touched The Sky
Continuing on the work that was done during the previous years (building on site since 2010), we want to grab the opportunity that was given to as by the ESC Volunteering program, and complete tree on-going new eco-buildings, the new magnificent building that will serve as the main hub of the Telethrion Community Project and also complete our new "Food Temple" and Nursery at the Test Site land. We will also improve existing constructions, through skill sharing, resilient community building and creating a new paradigm of sustainable life. This ESC individual volunteering team will run for 61 days *including travel days, from the 26th of March 2026 to the 25th of May. The FreeAndReal School of Sustainability, will welcome 4 motivated participants from EU countries, who together with the skilled trainers of the Free and Real team will get their hands dirty and minds full on sustainability and resilience in practice. During this time we plan to run 3 or 4 workshops Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Participants will be staying in the FreeAndReal offgrid "The Test Site", at the natural buildings of FreeAndReal, will be “powered” by plant based cuisine, and experience a communal sustainable lifestyle within walking distance by the sea! Training during the activity We shall be mainly working on many new buildings on the Test Site and also on a new 100sqm megayurt strawbale building at the mountain site called Telethrion. We will also taking care of the new trees that were planted in the past, but also plant new ones. During our time in the Test Site location we will completing the new cob Food Temple, using other natural building methods, combining theory and practice, using innovative non formal educational methods. And enjoying every moment. Participant profile We welcome all motivated youth that are under 30 years old that are interested into the topics of practical sustainability and resilience and live in the EU
