Overview

The intern will support the Communications and Knowledge Management Section in strategic communications and digital outreach to enhance the visibility of ESCAP's work among stakeholders and the public.

Tasks Summary

• Drafting and editing content for public information materials.
• Producing podcasts, social media posts, and multimedia content.
• Producing multimedia material for online and offline products.
• Assisting with photography and video production.
• Assisting with the management of the ESCAP multimedia database and audiovisual assets.
• Assisting in the organization and execution of ESCAP public events and commemorations.
• Providing background research for public information materials.
• Assisting with the ESCAP Briefing Programme.
• Exploring and proposing potential communications and digital outreach initiatives.
• Performing other related work as required.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, including MS Office, social media and multimedia production applications.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 3 - 6 Months

Remuneration: This internship is unpaid.
