Medicos del Mundo Medicos del Mundo - Mauritania Volunteer opportunity: Medical Coordination Assistant Volunteer with Médidos del Mundo Mauritania (Nouakchott)
Tasks Summary
- The volunteer will be based in Nouakchott and will report directly to the medical coordinator. Responsibilities: 1. Support the coordination and monitoring of activities related to the care of GBV survivors
- Participate in the planning of holistic care activities (medical, psychosocial, etc.).
- Support the monitoring of the implementation of care protocols
- Pharmaceutical management for care; stock management and monitoring, placing and tracking orders. 2. Technical support:
- Support gender health technicians in their formative supervision activities with teams.
- Provide technical support for activities carried out jointly with partner associations and institutions, particularly with regard to psychosocial support, care, etc.
- Identify capacity-building needs and contribute to the organisation of training. 3. Data collection, reporting and analysis:
- Contribute to the regular collection and verification of case management data. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The work will take place at the MdM Mauritania office in Nouakchott. The volunteer will then be accommodated in the organisation's guesthouse. It is a quiet city, with several beaches, the general atmosphere in Nouakchott is good. However, it is recommended to be careful when travelling. The restaurants are identified to allow the volunteers to have a varied diet and to eat in good hygienic conditions. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 570 € to cover their food and other personal expenses. Training during the activity Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Volunteers will acquire skills and interpersonal skills in a different cultural context, enrich themselves both professionally and personally through exchanges with the team, volunteers will be enabled to take on responsibilities and assert their skills. Participant profile EDUCATION - Medical or paramedical training; nursing and/or midwifery diploma; - Training in public health is an asset EXPERIENCE - Experience in supervising medical activities or experience in a healthcare facility - Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, child health and gender-based violence desirable SKILLS

- Good understanding of and interest in project topics: sexual and reproductive health, gender, gender-based violence. LANGUAGES
- Fluency in French essential
- Arabic and/or Spanish would be an asset Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
