Overview
The role involves providing technical input and developing deliverables related to Sustainable Development (SD) methodologies for climate action transparency projects. The expert will work in close coordination with the national ICAT team leader and other team members to ensure the timely delivery of project outputs and outcomes.
Tasks Summary
- Co-develop stocktaking reports, including mapping of data collection procedures, institutional arrangements, and priorities for MRV systems, projections, and NDC tracking, along with needs and gaps assessments and recommendations.
- Co-develop validation workshop reports.
- Develop reports describing the approach and results of using the SD Methodology, including the assessment of SD indicators in the context of NDC and SDGs.
- Conduct training for national stakeholders on the use of SD and GHG indicators and produce a report on this training.
- Co-develop final validation workshops and socialization of the framework.
- Co-develop final project reports, including lessons learned, key achievements, and potential for further development and/or replicability.
- Provide technical input as requested by the Team Leader for project deliverables and reports.
Experience Requirements
- Proven working experience in climate/environment protection minimum 5 years.
- Proven experience in working with the ICAT Sustainable development assessment methodology, minimum 5 years.
- Proven experience of working with international development projects, national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation, minimum 5 years.
Qualification Requirements
- Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
- A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of four years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
